Sikkim High Court: Justice Rai received a bachelor’s degree in law from Delhi’s Campus Law Center in 1989, and he has been practicing law ever since. As a Judicial Magistrate 1st Class–cum-Civil Judge (East) District in Gangtok, Sikkim, she worked her way up the ranks, eventually becoming District and Sessions Judge before being appointed Registrar General of the Sikkim H. The High Court of Judicature (Jurisdiction and Powers) Proclamation, 1955 was published in 1955 to formalize the establishment of a high court in Sikkim. In the wake of the merger, the state of Sikkim was elevated to the status of an independent Indian territory. Specifically, Article 371F specifies that the High Court of Sikkim, which had been in operation before the merger, was renamed the High Court of Sikkim under the Constitution following clause I.
